PERSONAL STATEMENT
Ever since playing at a young age, I knew I wanted to dedicate myself to soccer because of my love for the sport. Due to the distance we have to travel to play with a premier club, participating in other high school sports wasn’t possible, so I made the decision to play soccer year round between Varsity and club so I could consistently work on improving.
While my primary position is holding midfield, I’m also relied upon to play attacking mid, defensive back, and forward. Playing multiple positions has not only helped me become more versatile, but it’s also made me a better midfielder because I understand the roles and expectations of the other positions. It was a challenge to learn multiple positions over the years, but I’m grateful, because I know I can better help my team as a result.
VARSITY SOCCER
I’m honored to have been a starter for the Mynderse Academy Varsity Girls Soccer team since 8th grade. In each of my years on Varsity, we made it to the Sectional Finals, but unfortunately came up short in the championship games.Â
In late 2023, I was approached by a private academy out of Massachusetts with an offer to compete for the school while completing my junior and senior years of high school. I made the decision to accept, and began attending Cushing Academy on scholarship this Fall.
OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (ODP)
My ODP journey began with the NY West State Team in December 2022, where I was eventually selected to attend the ODP Showcase and compete with the 2008 and 2006 teams.
Following the ODP Showcase, I was excited and honored to be the only attending player from our NY West State team to be selected for the ODP East Regional ID Camp. There, 52 players from 13 states were evaluated to fill only 18 East Region team spots.
While I was selected as first alternate for the East Regional team, it was still a fun and rewarding experience, and it provided me with feedback on what to work on. The talent there was incredible and it was an honor to play with so many skilled players and coaches. It’s an experience I’ll never forget and I’m thankful to have had the opportunity.
CLUB SOCCER
Since we don’t have competitive soccer clubs in our area, I chose to try out for the Syracuse Development Academy (SDA) in 2018, where I was placed on their top team. I remained with the club through the 2023 season, after which I made the decision to move to New York Rush Select so I could maximize guest playing opportunities, showcases, and tournament participation.
In December of 2023, I was also selected for the Northeast Rush Select team, which is a team comprised of 18 girls from four states. Furthermore, in early 2024, I was selected by TNT Elite to compete at the Las Vegas College Showcase with both the U16G and U18G teams. Recently, I was again invited to play with TNT Elite at the USA Cup in Minnesota, where we went 6-1-0 in the top bracket, placing second as USA Cup Finalists.
Following the decision to complete my junior and senior years of high school at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts, I had to end my time with NY Rush Select. I loved the club, my team, and our coach, but the distance would have been too significant.
As such, I accepted an offer to play with NEFC Boston Azzuri 2008 RAL, and I look forward to the additional challenges and opportunities.
COLLEGIATE GOAL
My ultimate goal is to play where I can also find the perfect academic fit. I’m grateful to the coaching staff at Johnson & Wales Providence for giving me the opportunity to commit to their women’s soccer program. I will continue to work hard, and wherever my soccer path takes me, I want to perform as best I can and have a lot of fun doing it.Â
My career goal is to pursue Exercise Science and Performance Nutrition so I can focus on helping female athletes maximize their performance, recovery, and mental/physical health. JWU provides an incredible academic and culinary environment, and I look forward to this next chapter in my life.
Even though I still have two more years of club soccer and a senior year to finish, I can’t wait to see where my journey takes me and will work hard to keep Cushing Academy and JWU proud.Â
